First impressions from Essence. Is it only high-end make-up worth the hype?

And I can answer already NO. So many times in my life happened that expensive and luxurious product wasn’t as good as it was promoted. At least me, I like to mix my cosmetic bag with expensive and drug store products, because if you have an amazing product for 3 EUR, why you shouldn’t use it just because it’s not high-end, right?!

So today, want to talk about some products from Essence. I bought everything what you can see in a picture today, and have been using only 1 the same product before. Let’s start with face products and Kabuki brush.

Essence Camouflage 2in1 Powder& Make-up. High coverage, instant matt and long-lasting. Shade- 30 vanilla beige. Haven’t used it yet normally, just swapped a bit on my hand and on my cheek. What caught my attention when I took it in my hands, that it has a big mirror and looks very delicate. The powder itself is really lightweight and covers quite good. Will see how it will last on my face with a proper make-up during the day. So if you will be interested, let me know in a comments bellow if I should make a new blog post about the long-lasting.

Next one is Essence Satin Touch Blush. Shade 30 satin bronze. Also very delicate and simple packaging. The shade seems also to be perfect for contouring your nose and forehead. On a hand looks very natural and fresh as it has some kind of shimmer (but not too much!). Definitely will give some pretty glow for my cheeks.

Last but not least is a pastel blue Essence Kabuki Brush. I love the colour of it, so didn’t cared about the quality, but when I tried it looked as a decent make-up brush. The bristles are super soft and it should be perfect for bronzing up your face, decolte and neck. Can’t wait to give a normal try for it!

As I said, before I have tried only one product which I re-purchased again and it’s not first impressions any more. It’s Essence Prettifying Lip Oil with Jojoba Oil. It is very similar to Clarins lip oils and for me personally was the same result for my lips. It non sticky, gives a natural shine and moisturizes your lips. very nice product!

Currently I am obsessed with lip liners so really wanted to try these ones as well. I got in a Shades 07 cute pink (the darker one) and 12 wish me a rose. Love how they describe the shades! 🙂 So, the lip liners are very soft and easy to apply. Just need to sharpen up a little bit more. Seems like it will be long-lasting which is perfect for every day use when it’s not a dark colour.

And the last ones are two lipsticks in a super nice nude’ish but pink’ish colours. Will be so nice for the early autumn to go to work! First one is Essence Colour&Care Lipstick with Avocado ButterShade 03 Life’s my runway. (again the name!! <3) Suuuuuuper soft and velvety lipstick. Has a berry scent and you want to eat your lips! 🙂 As it has avocado butter as well, it should nourish a lot your lips as well and has a buttery shine.
Last lipstick is Essence Sheer&Shine. Shade 12 Candy love. Also very soft and a has kind of a ‘wet look’ finish, both of the lipsticks are non-sticky. More a pinky shade but it feels comfortable on a lips and will go perfectly with my floral dress!

And that was it. To conclude wanna say, that not only expensive and high-end make up is good. You can find great products also from drug store make-up. Especially if you are a student or you are on a budget, it’s great and cheap way to have the products you want and need, test some new ones and obviously save some money as well. Cause for all these products I wrote today, I spent less that 10EUR, because it was under 50% discount and I couldn’t be more happier even that I should really stop buying make-up. But it made me happy equally when I spent less than 10EUR or when I spend 100EUR.

Hope you enjoyed and talk to you soon!
Love,
Enrika xx
